Engage with your customers on Twitter, Facebook, and Get Satisfaction from one dashboard.
The Get Satisfaction/ HootSuite integration is a great way to engage with your customers on Facebook, Twitter, or your Get Satisfaction community all from your HootSuite dashboard. With this integration you’ll be able to: watch your community activity & respond to topics in a HootSuite stream, create new topics based on content created in Tweets or Facebook wall posts, easily navigate from HootSuite to a Get Satisfaction topic or Manage Workspace, and more! This integration is available for all Get Satisfaction plans and for all HootSuite plans.
There are two components you need to install for this integration:
1. Get Satisfaction HootsSuite App – Allows the user to send Tweets and Facebook Wall posts to Get Satisfaction communities to look for an answer, or to create a new topic from the original message. After you’ve installed this component, you’ll be able to click the drop down for the Tweet and see the “Send to GetSat” option.
2. Get Satisfaction HootSuite Stream – The Get Satisfaction Stream allows you to see topics from your community right in the HootSuite dashboard, alongside your Twitter and Facebook streams. You can also reply to topics, filter topics based on a search terms, and easily navigate back to Manage Workspace all from within the HootSuite dashboard.
Setting up the Get Satisfaction Hootsuite Integration
Setting up the integration to connect a Get Satisfaction with HootSuite only takes a couple of minutes.
After signing in to your HootSuite account, select the App Directory from the sidebar menu. The icon for the App Directory is a puzzle piece. Search for the term “Get Satisfaction” to quickly find the Get Satisfaction app. Click “Install App” to begin the process.
Select if you would like to have the content stream for the community exist in it’s own tab or in an existing tab. By default, a new tab will be created for the Get Satisfaction community content.
After the tab is created for the Get Satisfaction App, you can select what community you would like to have appear. Type in the full community URL into the Community URL box. For example, http://getsatisfaction.com/yourcommunityname. Click the “Connect to Community” button to start the connection process.
The conversation feed from your Get Satisfaction community should appear in the tab.Aside from viewing community content, it is possible to reply to conversations directly from the HootSuite App.
Adding Community Content to a Social Network using HootSuite
Sending community content to Twitter and Facebook is a very simple process.
To send a community topic to Facebook or Twitter, hover over the conversation. An arrow icon will appear.
After clicking the arrow icon, the editor will appear. It will automatically populate with the conversation title and short URL to access that specific community topic. You can use this space to add more text, attach an image or file, schedule the posting, and more.
After clicking “Send Now”, the content will appear on the social networks you have selected.
Adding Content from a Social Network to a Community using HootSuite
Creating community conversations from Twitter and Facebook posts is just as easy.
At the top right of each social post in your stream, click the down arrow to open actions that you can take on that social post. Select “Send to GetSat”.
The text content of the social media post will be included after “Get Satisfaction:” at the top of the pop-up that appears. In the “Add topic to” field, the URL of your community will appear. Unless multiple Get Satisfaction communities are linked to your HootSuite account, you will not need to change the content that appears here. If there are any community topics that already exist with similar terms in them, they will appear here. Otherwise, click “Continue to Create a New Topic” to proceed.
In the next window, you are able to fill out the details to turn this social post into a community conversation. You can select the topic type, create a topic title, associate this conversation with a category (under the drop down menu labeled “Product:”, and post your response. You are unable to edit the content of the original social post. Click “Create & Share Topic” to proceed.
Automatically a social post will be created to help you draw awareness to the new community conversation. This conversation will tag the person who originally posted the social post and will also include a link to the topic within your Get Satisfaction community.
The social post has now been created as a conversation in your Get Satisfaction community!
Elements of the Get Satisfaction HootSuite tab
Aside from the social stream of community content, there are three other sections to be aware of.
The Filter tab is accessed by clicking the magnifying glass icon. This tab lets you filter what conversation types are included in the social stream. You can also search for keywords and phrases. By default, all community content is included.
The Settings tab is accessed by clicking the gear icon. This tab lets you disconnect your community or change the community URL.
The More tab is accessed by clicking the icon with three dots. This tab is where you can get help in using the Get Satisfaction for HootSuite App, access the Get Satisfaction customer community, view your community, or access Manage Workspace for your community.
