Enable Latch for Your Account

Enabling Latch for your Get Satisfaction account is now possible! Latch offers protection of your online accounts by allowing you to decide when they can and cannot be accessed. You can read more about both Latch for Users and Latch for Companies on their website to learn more. This integration can come in handy for those who want to protect access to their accounts while away from the office or for those who use a FAQ company user to occasionally post community content.

Setting up Latch to protect your personal Get Satisfaction account can be done in just a few simple steps.

First, you will need to create an account with Latch. This can be done through their website or through their mobile app. To successfully set up Latch for your Get Satisfaction account, please be sure to sign up with the same email address that you are using to access your Get Satisfaction community. In this tutorial, we will be using the mobile app. The steps are very similar through the website.

Once you have confirmed your Latch account, you will want to pair with a new service. To do so, click “Add a new Service” at the bottom of the screen. Because the steps after this are time sensitive, it is best to have your Get Satisfaction account settings page already pulled up.

After signing into your Get Satisfaction community, access your user profile. Then click on “Account Information”. Next, you will toggle back into the Latch app.

For each service that you wish to connect with your Latch account, you will need to generate a new code.

After generating a new code, it will appear on the screen. You then have two minutes to enter this code into your Get Satisfaction account settings.

Towards the bottom of the Profile Information page will be a field labelled “Latch”. This is where your pairing code should be entered. Then hit the “Save Details” button to save this information to your Get Satisfaction account.

When your Get Satisfaction account has been successfully paired, Latch will show you the above screen. Click “Set up now” in Latch if you wish to test out or enable their security settings.

Once set up, enabling the Latch security settings for your account is as easy as sliding a switch.

When the service is activated, and your Get Satisfaction account is locked, you will be unable to login to your Get Satisfaction account. When trying to login to Get Satisfaction, you will be told that the email or password is incorrect.

When this happens, you will get a notification through Latch. You can then unlock the service if you wish to regain access to your Get Satisfaction account.
